Lemartec-NV2A breaks ground at the future Cruise Terminal G at PortMiami.
(January 08, 2026) – Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Lemartec President Manny Garcia-Tuñon, NV2AGroup President Gilberto Neves, members of the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners, PortMiami Director and CEO Hydi Webb, and Royal Caribbean Group Chairman and CEO Jason Liberty marked a major milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for the future Cruise Terminal G at PortMiami.
The project will be delivered through a design-build approach by the Lemartec-NV2A Joint Venture, in partnership with Perez & Perez Architects & Planners. Cruise Terminal G will be a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to Royal Caribbean Group and designed to achieve LEED certification. The terminal will have the capacity to accommodate vessels carrying more than 7,000 passengers and will support large cruise ships, including Icon-class vessels.
The new terminal will include a multi-level parking garage, an intermodal facility, and additional critical infrastructure to support efficient cruise operations. Designed as a single-berth terminal with multi-vessel functionality, the complex will integrate the latest advancements in cruise terminal construction, energy efficiency, and passenger experience, enabling streamlined embarkation and disembarkation.
“This world-class facility will enhance Miami-Dade County’s skyline while marking another milestone in PortMiami’s evolution,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “Our modern terminals are transforming how we do business and move people, delivering greater efficiency through innovative technology.”
The total investment for Cruise Terminal G is $345 million. Funding is provided through a partnership between Miami-Dade County and Royal Caribbean Group. The project represents a strategic investment to meet future demand, accommodate new generations of cruise ships, and deliver a more seamless and efficient experience for cruise passengers.
“Cruise Terminal G represents a major investment in Miami’s future,” said Jason Liberty, Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group. “Built with advanced technology and sustainable design, this new facility will deliver a smarter, faster, more seamless experience for guests sailing with our industry-leading brands: Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea. It reflects what matters most to us: innovation, collaboration, and delivering the world’s best vacations responsibly – while creating jobs and supporting the local economy for years to come.”
Beyond its operational capabilities, the terminal’s iconic architecture will contribute to the evolving PortMiami skyline and align with the growing trend of landmark waterfront structures that connect the city and the sea. Cruise Terminal G will add significant value to PortMiami’s existing terminal infrastructure while reinforcing Miami’s leadership in the global cruise industry and strengthening its position as the Cruise Capital of the World.
Cruise Terminal G is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027 and represents PortMiami’s continued growth, innovation, and commitment to shaping the future of cruising.
