MIAMI, FL — December 19, 2025 — Lemartec joined Miami-Dade County officials, aviation leadership, and project partners to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the new Ibis Garage at Miami International Airport (MIA), marking a major milestone in the airport’s ongoing modernization efforts. Delivered through a Design-Build partnership with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department, the new parking structure adds 2,240 spaces to the airport’s capacity, supporting increased passenger demand and improving convenience for travelers. The project was completed six months ahead of schedule and under budget, underscoring the team’s ability to efficiently deliver complex infrastructure.

Miami International Airport serves as a critical hub for international travel and commerce in South Florida, handling an average of more than 4.5 million passengers each month, a volume that continues to drive the need for expanded infrastructure. The addition of the Ibis Garage provides much-needed parking capacity while enhancing access and circulation throughout the airport campus. The seven-level garage, located near the arrivals area, integrates seamlessly with MIA’s existing roadway network, and complements the Dolphin and Flamingo garages, bringing the airport’s total parking capacity to more than 10,500 spaces.

Delivered as part of the airport’s Modernization in Action (M.I.A.) Plan, the project contributes to a broader multi-billion-dollar capital improvement initiative focused on upgrading infrastructure, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing the overall traveler experience. Constructed as a cast-in-place concrete structure spanning approximately 895,000 square feet, the Ibis Garage was designed for durability and operational performance while maintaining uninterrupted airport operations. The facility also incorporates sustainable features, including electric vehicle charging stations and energy-efficient LED lighting systems, aligning with Miami-Dade County’s commitment to environmentally responsible development.

The completion of the Ibis Garage represents an important step in preparing Miami International Airport for future growth, ensuring it can continue to meet the needs of travelers, airlines, and the regional economy.
